In COMING FORTH BY DAY, two mediums channel ancient dances, cast spells and navigate spirit possession. A performance-ritual exploring loss, transience, and the soul's journey after death, accompanied by three live vocalists who weave a mystical and astral songscape. Source materials include The Egyptian Book of the Dead, star charts, and Karlheinz Stockhausen's musical composition Stimmung. COMING FORTH BY DAY was originally conceived as the second half of an evening which begins with the piece QUERELLE QUARTET. Performed by Sheila Donovan & Alexis Macnab |
